Wow, ein Eisvogel!
Aperçu
Introduction
Starting at the end of January 2027, we will be dedicating a special exhibition to this flying gem. On opening day, you can look forward to a colorful program of special events.
The Klingnau Reservoir is an ideal habitat for the kingfisher. Whether during the breeding season or in winter, you’re very likely to spot kingfishers year-round—even along our nature trail. This iridescent gem is a symbol of healthy waterways and an ideal indicator species. When the kingfisher thrives, many other animal species benefit as well. That’s why we’re dedicating a special exhibition to this iridescent bird.
This new special exhibition will open to the public at the end of January 2027. On opening day, you can learn more about the kingfisher, its way of life, and its needs at an interactive information booth or during a presentation. A film about kingfishers offers further rare insights into the life and breeding habits of this “flying jewel.” Children can also make their own kingfisher craft to take home as a souvenir. Of course, you’re also welcome to explore the new special exhibition on your own at your leisure.
