Introdução
Bands compete for the “Besson Swiss Open Champion Band” title. Special prizes reward the best own-choice performance and best cornet solo, judged anonymously by five judges.
The participating brass bands will compete for the title of “Besson Swiss Open Champion Band.” In addition, a special prize of CHF 1,000, sponsored by Obrasso-Verlag AG, will be awarded for the best performance of a piece of the band’s own choice, and a special prize of CHF 500, sponsored by Musik Beat Zurkinden AG, for the best-played solo cornet (Solo 2, letters D–E & P–Q) in the set piece. Five judges will evaluate the performances without communicating with one another, without visual contact, and without knowing the order of appearance. Each judge awards a maximum of 60 points for both the set piece and the self-selected piece. The highest and lowest scores are discarded, resulting in a maximum of 180 points per band for both the set piece and the self-selected piece, for a total of 360 points.
