A.’s enthusiastically received debut in September 2026, the three young musicians will perform two of the most popular piano trios of all time: Beethoven composed the ‘Archduke Trio’ for his patron, Rudolf of Austria, following Rudolf’s return from Budapest, where the imperial family had taken refuge when Napoleon’s troops were at the gates of Vienna. Musically, it illustrates Beethoven’s temporary shift away from dynamic, combative passages towards a lyrical calm.This is contrasted by Ravel’s folk-inspired piano trio.
