Wim Wenders’ new film explores the work of one of the most influential contemporary architects, Pritzker Prize laureate Peter Zumthor. The immersive 3D approach presents his architecture from the perspective of visitors, users, residents, and craftsmen. Viewers experience the buildings as if they could walk through them themselves, gaining an understanding of how architecture influences our perception of the world and shapes our lives.
With the collaborative short film *Notes From A Day In The Life Of An Architect*, director Wim Wenders and architect Peter Zumthor created their first joint project at the invitation of David Chipperfield. As it turned out, this film was just the beginning of something much bigger. They realized they had a similar way of working: they develop things from the inside out. The desire to tackle a film project together grew stronger and stronger. In this documentary, Wim Wenders explores Peter Zumthor’s work, focusing on two of Zumthor’s upcoming architectural projects: the expansion of the Fondation Beyeler in Riehen near Basel and the new building for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
