Introdução
"Swinging Christmas" brings the golden age of big bands to Lucerne and whets the appetite for a rhythmic Christmas.
Under the direction of Uli Plettendorff, the trombonist and new bandleader of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, festive evergreens and the great hits of the 40s and 50s are played. From the very first note, you can feel the verve, energy and joie de vivre that make swing so unmistakable. The orchestra performs the evening with elegance and a charming wink. Works such as "Moonlight Serenade", "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year", "Flying Home" and "A String of Pearls" bring the typical big band sound to life. The combination of saxophones, clarinets, trumpets, trombones, bass, drums and piano creates a full sound that inspires generations. Uli Plettendorff knows the music of Glenn Miller inside out. Even as a student, he played in Wil Salden's The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra. This orchestra has been bringing the musical legacy of the legendary bandleader to the great concert halls of Europe for around four decades. Since then, Uli Plettendorff has carried on the tradition of this unique sound with passion. Each song unfolds its own mood: sometimes rhythmic and infectious, sometimes elegant and soulful, always characterized by precision and attention to detail.
"Swinging Christmas" brings the magic of the swing era to life. The Obrasso Concerts immerse young and old in a musical experience that captures the festive mood of the Advent season and celebrates the joy of great big band music.
