Batzorig Vaanchig - Music from Mongolia
概览
简介
Batzorig Vaanchig is one of the most respected representatives of Mongolian throat singing in traditional nomadic music.
The Mongolian government awarded him the Order of the Polar Star (Altan Gadas), the highest state honour, for his contribution to the preservation and transmission of Mongolian cultural heritage.
A deeply committed artist, Batzorig also founded a centre for children dedicated to learning the morin khuur in Ulaanbaatar, convinced that Mongolian culture must be passed on to future generations. Today, he is presenting his solo project in Europe for the first time. In the exceptional acoustics of the Abbey Church of Romainmôtier, he will play the khöömii, the morin khuur and other traditional instruments such as the tovshuur, inviting the audience on a musical journey to the heart of Mongolia's endless landscapes.
* Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
