Gypsy Music—virtuosic, moving, and full of energy.
The band brings melodies from Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and other regions to the stage. These are sounds that blend joy and sorrow, a zest for life and longing. Dusha consists of two musicians from Schaffhausen and a married couple from Strasbourg who have collaborated with greats such as Yehudi Menuhin, Gheorghe Zamfir, and Biréli Lagrène. Together, they captivate the audience with their enthusiasm, seamless ensemble playing, and fascinating insights into the pieces they perform. In the second half, the musical journey continues to Spain, and flamenco dancer Sara Santos joins the group as a special guest for several pieces. She grew up in Schaffhausen and then lived in Spain—her parents’ homeland—for 20 years, where she trained as a flamenco dancer under the best teachers. This evening marks the first time Dusha and Sara Santos will perform together, bringing together Dusha’s energetic music and the spirited Spanish dance.
