Innertkirchen: Wasserkraft erleben
概览
简介
Exciting guided tour of the Innertkirchen 1 and 1A power plants: Experience how electricity is produced with Grimsel water and how the Swiss electricity grid is reliably regulated.
Innertkirchen: Experience hydropower is an exciting guided tour of the Innertkirchen 1 and 1A hydropower plants. Visitors are given an impressive insight into the production of electricity from hydropower. The underground power plants show how the large volumes of water in the Grimsel are used to generate electrical energy. The role that hydropower plays in Switzerland's electricity supply and how the plants help to reliably regulate the power grid are explained in a clear and understandable way.
The tour lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes and takes place partly underground. During the tour, you walk through the plants for the most part and experience the technology up close. This makes it clear how much planning, precision and modern control is behind the production of electricity. The tour is particularly suitable for groups and schools and offers an interesting combination of technology, energy and regional history.
As the tour partly takes place in underground areas and involves some stairs, a good physical condition is recommended. Sturdy shoes and a warm jacket are advisable, as the temperatures in the facilities are rather cool. The tour starts at the KWO main building in Innertkirchen and can easily be combined with a picnic by the River Aare or a visit to the Aare Gorge.
