Tribute to Armel Guerne

To mark the publication of the book *Armel Guerne, la marche à l’Étoile*, the City of Morges is paying tribute to Armel Guerne (1911–1980), a translator, poet and member of the Resistance during the Second World War, who was born in Morges and lived there until the age of ten.

Programme for the evening:

7.00 pm: Official proceedings with Mr Patrick Amstutz, the book’s publisher and director of the Association for a Collection of Literary Studies, and Ms Laure Jaton, Councillor for Children, Culture and Sustainability.

7.30 pm: Musical reading of extracts from Armel Guerne’s poems and translations (Grimm’s Fairy Tales, Hasidic Tales, The German Romantics, etc.) by the Compagnie La Renaissance, featuring actress Lydia Weyrich, winner of the City of Morges 2023 Artistic Encouragement Prize, and pianist Alexandra Sikorskaya.

The event will be followed by drinks and canapés.
