KuKuk playgrounds

“KuKuk” – based on the German word “Kuckuck” meaning cuckoo – is the name of an organisation that creates and builds unique children’s playgrounds. KuKuk is an abbreviation for “Kunst und Kultur Konzeption” (engl. Art and Culture Conception), which encapsulates the philosophy behind the individually designed playgrounds. The idea is that by playing with the unusual objects that make up the playground, children become aware of nature as a living thing that deserves to be protected.

Wolli’s adventure park at Sunnegga

Head uphill from Zermatt to the Leisee lake and you will find a beautiful mountain playground and beach. There are slides, swings and a wooden raft secured by a cable that kids can cross the lake on. The park also features barbecue sites with tables and benches for a relaxing lunch break.

BEO Funpark

Whatever the weather, the BEO Funpark is the perfect place for visitors of all ages to race each other down slides, up walls and over obstacles.

Gwunderwasser playground

The Gwunderwasser playground is divided into a play area and a hands-on learning area. In the latter, the children can play with all sorts of water toys by diverting, damming and releasing streams of water while parents relax on the wooden sun loungers.

Urba Kids

Come rain or shine, kids will love spending the day at the Urba Kids leisure centre, where they can zoom about in bumper cars or try to find their way through the maize maze.

Alp Languard children’s playground

Right next to the mountain station of the Languard chair lift is the Alp Languard children’s playground. The playground has an ibex theme, and kids can try to match the leaping and climbing skills of the ibex on an obstacle course, practice their high jump and attempt to complete the climbing wall.
