Concert featuring Miriam Terragni (flute), Aurea Marston (soprano), Jana Ozolina (violin), Gunta Ābele (cello), and Cornelia Lenzin (piano)
Balz Trümpy was a lecturer at the Basel University of Music beginning in 1979 and, starting in 2008, served as professor of music theory and composition until his retirement in 2011. From 1982 to 1987, he also served as deputy director of the conservatory. His extensive body of work is performed internationally, including at renowned festivals such as the Donaueschingen Music Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the music festivals of the Swiss Society of Composers, and the IGNM World Music Festival. In 2012, he was Composer in Residence at the Davos Festival.
The program, designed in collaboration with Balz Trümpy, showcases the diversity of his chamber music output. Particular highlights include two world premieres: a new work for soprano, flute, violin, cello, and piano, as well as the previously unperformed “Duetti Concertanti” from 2004/05. The evening is rounded out by art songs as well as works for flute and piano and solo flute.
Price: CHF 30.– /25.–, at the door
The concert is made possible by foundation grants.
