A tour of the ESTIVAGES exhibition, will be offered on July 30 as part of the Passeport Vacances program, in collaboration with Épicentre at the Martigny Media Library.
As part of the Passeport Vacances program, L’Épicentre, in collaboration with the Valais - Martigny Media Library, is offering a guided tour of the exhibition *Estivages: The Alpine Pasture Season in Switzerland* by photographer Romano Riedo.
Have you ever wondered what happens up there in the mountains when the cows head off for the summer?
Romano Riedo, a photographer from Fribourg, has spent nearly 20 years climbing up to the Swiss alpine pastures to photograph the lives of those who work there: herders, cheesemakers, and mountain farmers. His most beautiful images are brought together in the exhibition *Estivages. The Swiss Alpine Pasture Season is on display at the Valais–Martigny Media Library.
Between time-honored traditions and modern machinery, you’ll discover all the facets of this tradition—so precious that UNESCO designated it a cultural treasure of humanity in 2023!
