Overview
Intro
The Semibreve saxophone quartet is composed of: Flavio Casanova (soprano sax), Orazio Borioli (alto sax), Walter Seghizzi (tenor sax), Franco Menozzi (baritone sax).
To introduce this ensemble, let us begin with a few considerations about the instrument itself. The saxophone is a fascinating instrument. Its tonal and dynamic possibilities make it unique, extremely flexible, and highly versatile. One only has to think of the distance between the sound of a jazz saxophonist and that of a classical saxophonist, or the contrast between the sound of Charlie Parker and that of Paul Desmond or Marcel Mule, professor of saxophone at the Paris Conservatory.
Furthermore, consider the difference in tone between the soprano saxophone and its close relative, the alto saxophone, even though they blend perfectly together when played alongside one another or with the other members of the saxophone family. Yet most of the instrument’s characteristics remain largely unknown to the general public.
One of the aims of the Semibreve Saxophone Quartet is precisely to bring audiences closer to the possibilities offered by this instrumental formation. The chosen approach is enjoyment, both for those who play and for those who listen — or so we hope.
The Semibreve Quartet is available for concerts, cultural events, music seasons, and artistic collaborations, offering flexible programs adaptable to the needs of every organizer.

In particular, on Sunday, June 21 at 5:30 p.m., the Semibreve Quartet will perform a concert at Casa Cavalier Pellanda in Biasca entitled:
Soundtracks of the Imagination. A journey through myth, cinema, and great melodies.
Music by Händel, Vivaldi, Morricone, Lloyd Webber, Zimmer, Giuffre, ...
This is a charity concert, and the proceeds (from voluntary donations) will be donated to the “Acquavie Senegal” Association.
