Stellwerkfest 2026: A Space for Connection
On Saturday, November 21, 2026, Stellwerk Basel will open its doors and invite everyone to the Stellwerkfest. From 4 p.m. to midnight, the building on Vogesenplatz will become a place for discovery, encounters, art, music, and celebration.
Stellwerk is a workspace and meeting place for cultural and creative professionals from a wide variety of fields. Here, people design, write, film, build, think, experiment, and produce. The Stellwerkfest offers a glimpse into what’s usually created behind the doors of studios and offices. The people in the building provide insights into their work, open their spaces, and invite visitors to join in.
Starting at 4 p.m., there’s plenty to discover and try out. Open studios and glimpses into the creative process show what the Stellwerk artists are working on. In open workshops, you can try your hand at the craft yourself. There will also be readings, cabaret, films, and a screening room. Movement and dance are also part of the program—whether you’re watching or joining in. Those who prefer to simply wander through the building can go with the flow and perhaps discover things they never expected.
In the evening, the Stellwerk turns into a party. The restaurant Du Coeur will provide food. Drinks are available in the basement and at the bar, and there’s live music on stage: Two & The Sun from Winterthur will be playing indie pop. Afterward, Shantel takes over as DJ (yes, that’s right, “Disko Partizani”). The steam room also has a unique offering for the day. If you’ve always wanted to try karaoke in a somewhat unusual setting, don’t miss the “WC Karaoke.”
The Stellwerkfest offers the chance to take a peek behind the scenes of a vibrant creative hub, meet new people, and experience an evening full of new impressions. Whether it’s for a workshop, a reading, a peek into the studios, a concert, a drink at the bar, or simply out of curiosity: it’s worth stopping by.
