The Sihlwald (Wildlife Park) Route takes you from Thalwil over the Albis Pass to Hausen am Albis. And from Albis you continually enjoy new breathtaking views over Lake Zurich. The Zürichsee-Rundweg (round path alongside the lake) provides views of mansions, tidy towns and natural shoreline as you pass –and of course the Sihlwald nature park is a great close-by attraction with its pristine and almost untouched nature in contrast to the urban agglomerations. (PostBus stop Langnau a.A., Schwerzi-Wildpark).

Discover the woods’ many uses and secrets along the adventure path leading from the visitor’s centre by Sihlwald, Bahnhof. A woods-xylophone reveals the age of trees, and you can communicate with the wooden giants through a so-called tree-telephone.

Boardwalk type catwalks over the stealthy waters invite you to ponder over the natural beauty that surrounds you –and a particular park highlight is presented in this wildlife park, with prime living examples of 19 species of Switzerland’s former domestic animals. Intentions are the reintroduction and conservation breeding. (PostBus stop Langnau a.A., Schwerzi-Wildpark).

Observe the animals almost as wild and learn interesting facts through the interactive information facilities. Over the Albis Pass, you finally arrive at Hausen am Albis (PostBus stop Hausen am Albis, Post). From here you can take the Ämtlerweg path which, in three days, takes you from Bonstetten to the Affoltern district. Discover the beautiful nature reserves here as well, along with superb monuments such as the Cistercian monastery at Kappel am Albis, and Knonau Castle.
