Your private snowshoe tour

Creaking snow, silence, only your own trail behind you: Some winter days don’t belong in a group with a fixed itinerary. Then the snowshoe tour is simply tailored to you. **How it works** **1. State your wish:** Tell us what you’d like, how fit you are and when you have time. A specific goal is welcome, a vague idea is just as good. **2. Receive a proposal:** You’ll get a suitable route, tailored to snow and avalanche conditions, and a non-binding offer listing all costs. **3. Set off:** You’ll receive a packing list and preparation tips in advance; your guide takes care of navigation and safety. You decide the pace and breaks. **Ideas for your tour** Your very first snowshoe day, entirely without group pressure. A cosy round with family or friends and a stop in a warm inn. A more active tour to a viewpoint where hardly anyone stands in winter. Or several days in the snow with organised accommodation. Your guide is based in the Valais, but can also head to the Prealps, eastern Switzerland or your favourite region. **Safe travel** The route is adapted to weather, snow and avalanche conditions. An avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe are always in the rucksack. Anyone who doesn’t have the equipment can rent it together with snowshoes and poles. **How the price is calculated** **Guiding:** CHF 550 per day for one person, CHF 650 per day for 2 to 4 people. The price applies per group; with four people it becomes significantly cheaper per head. **Adjustments:** Depending on difficulty, conditions and duration, the daily rate may vary; multi-day tours come with a reduced rate. **Rental equipment per day:** Avalanche equipment CHF 20, snowshoes CHF 15, poles CHF 8. **Guide’s expenses:** Car travel at CHF 0.70 per km or public transport as required, plus mountain railway tickets and any overnight stays for the guide. **Your own costs:** Travel to the venue, mountain railways, meals and accommodation. Everything is set out in black and white in the offer before you decide. Small tip: For tours in the Valais, the guide’s travel costs are particularly low. **Your guide** Falko Burghausen of beAnywhere is a trainee mountain hiking guide, Swiss Athletics trail-running instructor and internationally acclaimed landscape photographer.
