Intro

If you’re after a spa experience in the heart of Baden and right on the banks of the Limmat river, Switzerland’s newest thermal bath is the place for you. Designed by Mario Botta, the Fortyseven wellness spa is the centrepiece of Baden’s spas and continues the town’s rich Roman bath tradition dating more than 2,000 years.

Over 18 springs supply the spa’s warming waters – considered the most mineral-rich in Switzerland. Fortyseven is a place of true physical and mental relaxation, offering complete peace and tranquillity for all who love wellness. Guests can choose from: Eight indoor and outdoor pools including an outdoor infinity pool, 11 saunas, steam baths and a number of elegant relaxation rooms. The spa’s offerings are enhanced by its Kosmos audiovisual experience, which supports mental recovery and includes wonderful music composed by Boris Blank, a member of music duo Yello. Spa guests can also look forward to wide range of healthy meals made using largely local produce.

Bathing in the hot thermal fountains

In addition to the Fortyseven wellness spa, visitors can bathe in the hot thermal fountains right on the banks of the Limmat river – free of charge and open to all. This means that visitors to the spa town of Baden can choose to take in its unique thermal waters spur of the moment – much like the Romans did in the past when they bathed in the open air. The fountains with their various pools are supplied with warm waters directly from the source. The temperature of the thermal water ranges between 37°C and 43°C.

Baden’s cuisine

If you’re feeling peckish after soaking in the thermal waters, simply walk through the charming little laneways of the old town and treat yourself to some of the town’s culinary delights. Baden boasts some delicious specialities, such as Spanischbrödli, a light flaky pastry confection, as well as a wide range of restaurants serving vegetarian and vegan dishes. Particularly recommended are the "Restaurant PLÜ" and the Trudelkeller, which contribute to holistic well-being with healthy and balanced food.
