Intro
Nalini Menamkat directs this delightful satire by Eduardo De Filippo, which blurs the lines between truth and falsehood.
Oreste Campese, director of a theatre troupe whose trailer has just gone up in smoke, seeks help from the newly appointed Prefect De Caro. But she, preoccupied with more “serious” emergencies, rejects his pleas. Tension mounts and Oreste Campese threatens to unleash his actors and actresses into the arena of public life, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction. Trapped in a game of masks she no longer controls, the prefect falters. Doctor, nun, teacher... who is telling the truth? Who is acting?
