This route takes you from the Chrindi midway station past Lake Hinterstocken and then up to the idyllic Oberbärgli Alpine huts on Mount Lasenberg. A memorable experience of nature that will gradually make you forget the everyday routine.
Description
The Stockhorn cableway carries you from Erlenbach, with its venerable Simmen Valley farmhouses, up to the Chrindi midway station. The Stockhorn area, with its two lakes, is transformed into a tranquil winter landscape once the snow falls: the stuff of dreams! The setting is reminiscent of the far north.
The first section of the hiking route leads down to Lake Hinterstocken, located in a depression to the south of the Stockhorn. On the west side, a hillock with snow-covered trees and boulders juts into the mountain lake. With luck, you'll spot a few ice fishers braving the bone-chilling cold. From lake level, the path veers off to the right. It leads you across the snowclad plain, and you continuously gain height as you head for Lasenberg/Oberbärgli.
Always ahead of you is a view of the Stockhorn with its striking summit and panoramic restaurant. In the last few meters before the Oberbärgli Alpine huts, the path turns off to the east. On reaching the top, you can pause to drink in the wonderful view of the Stockhorn and the lake below you. Descend to Chrindi along the same route.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
