Guided tours of the Grand Hotel and Caux Palace with afternoon tea. In the footsteps of Sissi and the Belle Epoque
Discover two jewels of the Belle Epoque perched on the heights of the Vaud Riviera, the magnificent Grand Hôtel de Caux and the impressive Caux Palace. Treat yourself to a real dive into history by taking part in our guided tours, accompanied by afternoon tea. These two buildings were part of the same complex when they were inaugurated; they fascinate visitors with their architecture, but also with their respective histories and transformations over the decades. The tour begins at the Grand Hotel: once frequented by European aristocracy and the great figures of the time, the Grand Hotel de Caux welcomed among its prestigious guests Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sissi. As you walk through its doors, you will be following in the footsteps of this legendary sovereign, whose presence left a special mark on these places. During afternoon tea served at the Grand Hotel (homemade cakes, biscuits, tea, coffee), you will have the opportunity to chat with the managers. The tour continues at the Caux Palace, an impressive hotel-palace with its majestic appearance and exceptional panoramic view of Lake Geneva and the surrounding Alps. It has welcomed guests such as Kipling, A. Rubinstein and Fitzgerald. One of the largest palaces when it opened, it embodies the splendour and architectural audacity of its era. Our guides will reveal fascinating anecdotes, secrets and stories about the life that once animated and still animates these exceptional sites.
