Gantrisch Nature Park
Forests, gorges and the unique Gantrisch mountain chain dominate the landscape in the Gantrisch Regional Nature Park. But the virtual absence of light pollution is also characteristic of the park and means guests can marvel at a magical, starry sky – in short, wonderful surroundings in which to unwind.
Gantrisch Nature Park and the eponymous mountain peak are located in the triangle between Bern, Thun and Fribourg. Nature lovers can very rapidly find themselves in the midst of never-ending forests, pristine meadows and deep canyons: you can watch wild animals, be enthralled by rare plants and enjoy breathtaking views. The best way to explore the area is on foot or by bike, such as on the Gantrisch Panorama Trail, Gürbetal Panorama Trail, Grasburg Nature Trail, in the primeval landscape of Brecca or through the awe-inspiring Sense-Schwarzwasser Gorge. Thrill-seekers can pay a visit to the Gantrisch suspension rope park or the via ferrata in Gurnigel. If you need refreshments, you can stop by the Alpine dairy of the Mäder family and sample some delicious Alpine cheese or visit «Irmas Mahlwerk bistro at Dittligmühle. There are more than 200 delicious regional specialities with the Gantrisch Nature Park label.
