Intro

Textiles played an important role in late antique living spaces.

Textiles played an important role in late antique living spaces. They were both luxury goods and status symbols, offered protection from the cold and draughts, created comfort and lent color and prestigious splendor to interiors. The masterfully designed wall hangings, curtains, upholstery and blankets on display in the Abegg-Stiftung's new special exhibition provide a vivid insight into the living culture of the time.
