HUGO LIORET electroacoustic art, composition, field recording
https://hugolioret.com/
A traveler among others, Hugo wishes to convey, through his music, the poetic richness of the living world by combining field recording with sound synthesis. He frequently composes electroacoustic music with the Buchla modular system alongside other instrumental sources and concrete sounds, in a bio-inspired approach. As defined by the MNHN (the French National Museum of Natural History): “Bio-inspiration is a creative approach based on the observation of living systems, from microorganisms to ecosystems”. For Hugo, this involves listening to and recording the full range of biophonic sounds (all sounds produced by living organisms) and geophonic sounds (all sounds produced by inanimate natural elements), as well as translating into sound, through timbre and behavior, his phenomenological relationship to spaces (their luminosity, weather conditions, volumes, surface areas, and atmospheres).
