Nods
Intro
Between the lakes and the Chasseral, the village of Nods lies in an idyllic setting. This agricultural village, made up of farms and buildings that emphasise the architecture of several centuries, offers a wide range of leisure and recreational opportunities.
The southern slope of the Chasseral resembles a hill whose gentle slopes and wooded pastures invite you to dream. In Nods and its surroundings, you are in the typical natural landscapes of the Jura Arc. On a clear day, you can also enjoy a panoramic view of the Swiss Plateau and the Alps. As far as heritage is concerned, visitors should take a detour to the Forge de Nods, which is still in operation today and full of secrets and objects forged over more than two centuries.
Winter
Skiing, boarding or snowboarding - in the winter resort of Nods-Chasseral you can try it all, safely and with lots of fun! This small, family-friendly ski resort is located at the southern foot of the Chasseral at an altitude of 960 metres. Skiers and snowboarders have access to a large, 400-metre-long arch lift and two mini-lifts, covering a total of around two kilometres of slopes. There is also a toboggan run with a special 260-metre-long facility for pulling bobsleds. The small snack bar at the ski lift serves hot and cold drinks and snacks. From the terrace of the snack bar, skiers can enjoy the sun and the view of the Alps from Mont Blanc to Titlis. The Nods-Chasseral ski area also offers 20 kilometres of cross-country trails for Nordic and skating skiing, joining the 50 kilometres of trails in Les Prés-d'Orvin, as well as six kilometres of winter hiking trails.
Summer
The gentle and green south side of the Chasseral is a wonderful playground for hiking. Between forests and pastures, the south side also offers numerous opportunities for mountain biking. In addition to pleasant downhill trails, the site offers breathtaking views of the Plateau de Diesse and the Alps in good weather. The various hiking trails and mountain bike routes lead across wooded pastures, the typical landscapes of the Jura Arc. Also typical of the Bernese Jura are the Métairies, which await visitors with a regional dish for a welcomed break.
