Albert Schweitzer path
Overview
Intro
During his vacations on the Grimmialp Albert Schweitzer took a great many walks. He treasured the peace and tranquillity of the mountainous landscape.
For his "Life and Works" the Grimmialp was of crucial importance to Albert Schweizer, and he spent many weeks here between the years 1901 to 1909. Here he sought rest and relaxation, and rejoiced in many walks in the great outdoors. The 5 km long trail leads from the starting point at Kurhaus Grimmialp, along pastures to the mythical "Blauseeli" lake, on through the mountain forest and village of Schwenden and back. Several benches and quotes from Albert Schweitzer along the way assist you in mirroring the depths of your soul and recharging your batteries.
