Since his sensational debut album “Mmaso,” the Ugandan conscious rapper and acrobat ECKO BAZZ has enjoyed a meteoric rise to international success.
His style is a blend of supernatural trap intensity, demonic nu-dancehall, and politically charged Luganda poetry that addresses violence, religion, and poverty in Uganda’s slums. Anyone who’s seen him live knows what to expect: his electrifying flow and his fiery stage presence. The rapper effortlessly shifts between profound truths and hyperactive shouts, rapping at lightning speed over beats by Debmaster, Slikback, and the British producer PQ (“Nightmare Song”), among others.
