Morgestraich 2027
Overview
Intro
On Monday morning, February 15, 27, at 4:00 a.m., the "three most beautiful days" will begin in Basel.
The Morgestraich, which kicks off the Basel Carnival on Monday morning, is a magical moment and, for many, even the highlight of the carnival. At exactly 4:00 a.m., the lights go out in downtown Basel—both Kleinbasel and Grossbasel (see the lights-out schedule). As the cliques simultaneously strike up the same march, “Morgestraich,” their headlamps and the approximately 200 artistically designed parade lanterns shine in all their splendor.
