An Exhibition by Marie Giovanola

Four years ago, Marie Giovanola began volunteering with organizations that assist refugees, first in Thessaloniki, Greece, and then in Calais, in northern France.Two years ago, microphone and phone in hand, she reconnected with the people whose paths she had crossed. From these conversations, which she edited, stories emerged, followed by a podcast broadcast by RTS; at the HES-SO Valais/Wallis HESTS Media Library in Bellevue, she paired the audio with visuals. Somewhere between personal testimony and journalistic investigation, a voice is lent to those who have none. The whole takes on a human form, beyond mere statistical data.
