Intro

Engelberg-Titlis: In Engelberg no traditions or customs are more intensely alive than those connected with Alpine farming.

The return to the valley from alpine pastures (about from mid- September to mid-October), animal show at the Ochsenmatt (In mid-October) and jolly "Älplerchilbi" (festival) with Alpine farmers" fair. The sound of cowbells is heard all the way down the valley, prayers spread a thoughtful atmosphere and alpine farmers proudly and happily wear the traditional Engelberg costume. On the day of the Alpine cattle descent, a farmers market - the Engelberg Market - takes place at the village square. It starts at 10 a.m. and the cows arrive in the village at midday.
