On a guided tour, you’ll experience the impressive Viamala Gorge up close. From the visitor center, you’ll descend 359 steps into the heart of the gorge.
Viamala refers to a once-notorious, approximately eight-kilometer-long stretch of road along the Hinterrhein between Thusis and Zillis-Reischen in the canton of Graubünden. The deeply carved gorge forms the most challenging obstacle along the route from Chur to the Splügen and San Bernardino Alpine passes. On a guided tour, you can experience the impressive Viamala Gorge up close. From the visitor center, you’ll descend 359 steps into the heart of the gorge. Enjoy a culinary treat during lunch at the Hotel Weiss Kreuz in Thusis. Continue on to the Bakery Museum in Benken, St. Gallen. It’s not just interesting for pastry chefs, but also for those with a nostalgic streak. From the art of baking to antique furniture and vintage cars, you’ll find a vast collection of lovingly curated exhibits here.
