Like something out of a fairytale, Lavaux is almost too beautiful to be true.
Description
After climbing to Chexbres, the Route de la Corniche leads straight through the vineyard terraces. Though narrow, the road offers plenty of opportunities to stop and drink in the magnificent views – let your gaze drift across hillside vineyards, dry stone walls and wine-growing villages to the glittering expanse of Lake Geneva and the Alps on the horizon. The drive from Epesses, the little gem of a village that graces some wine bottle labels, via Riex and Grandvaux down to Lutry on the shores of the lake is bewitching beyond belief.
