Greifensee Skate
Overview
Intro
The Greifensee Skate is a classic par excellence. Sport skating is impossible at weekends, taking it easy and enjoying is the order of the day. Thousands of others do the same! The route is very beautiful and very easy but also very busy.
Description
To describe the Greifensee lake as a skating paradise is virtually stating the obvious. The tour around the lake is clearly a classic! The Greifensee is also a popular excursion destination for cyclists and hikers.
In the early days of skating, traffic-regulating measures had to be introduced and road sections actually were closed to motor vehicles for the benefit of skaters and cyclists on Sundays and holidays in the summer months.
Taking into account the popularity of the nearby recreational area, additional paths with solid surfaces were made available for skaters and cyclists. Today the Greifensee has an excellent infrastructure for all non-motorized traffic. The route is very easy to negotiate and so ideal for families. Nevertheless, less proficient skaters would be best advised to avoid the Greifensee on busy weekends.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
