Intro
This delightful snowshoe circular tour starts in Cancorì and leads along a route with a magnificent view of the Blenio valley and its mountains in the heart of the alps. Worthwhile detours: the popular Pela bar, wooden swings with panoramic views, and a tipi with a fireplace.
Description
The starting point of the route is at the top station of the Leontica-Cancori chairlift, just next to the restaurant La Pernice. The trail starts with a gentle climb and then descends for around 3.5 km. The highlight is its wide panoramic views of the lower Blenio valley, but also towards the legendary Sosto peak, known as the "Matterhorn of Ticino" because of its pyramid shape.
When you hear music, it's quite clear: the Pela bar is not far away. It is located a little above the trail on the ski slope and next to the sledge run. A great place to warm up with a snack and a hot drink. Afterwards, you can take a detour to the swings of "Swing The World", a special project with handmade wooden swings that were installed in some impressive places throughout Ticino.
You return to the described route at Buslino and continue on the descent towards Pianèzza. A good five minutes further on there is a tipi where a fire can be made. In the last section, the trail leads along the popular sledge run.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
