The name already says it all: the Pizol panoramic path captivates with its impressive view in the middle of the UNESCO world heritage site Tectonic Arena Sardona.
Description
The chairlift leads up to 2,222 metres. At Laufböden the winter hikers enjoy a mountain panorama of a special kind: the view reaches from the striking Churfirsten at Walensee over the Rhine Valley to Lake Constance; Grisons and Glarus Alps.
The circular trail leads between Laufböden and Pizol hut to the plateau, which is forming a natural platform. Behind the Glarus thrust rises up, which has been included into the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here it is clearly visible, how the rock strata have been ridging and folding during the formation of the Alps. A chairlift leads back to Pardiel.
The way leads without significant inclines through the barren landscape far beyond the timber line. Past frozen mountain lakes the Pizol hut is reached, which invites to linger for a while on the sun terrace, before taking your way back.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
