In winter, when the panorama road on the Glaubenbielen Pass is closed, you can experience pure nature here. The view of the Rothorn chain and the traces of wild animals in the snow make you forget about everyday life. The landslide area, which is clearly visible on this route, is also very exciting.
Description
The sporting hike starts in the village of Sörenberg. At first you go leisurely from the village center up to the indoor swimming pool and to the last house. From here, the trail becomes more and more immersed in nature.
After the rather leisurely start, two steeper sections follow before reaching the Schwendeli/Totmoos plateau. On this route you still can see the extent of the landslide near Sörenberg. The Laui Sörenberg area is a prehistoric landslide area. In 1910, about 1.5 million m³ of material thundered 40 meters down the mountain and remained loose. During rainfall there is always the danger that deposited debris slides into the valley as mudslide.
On the snow-covered panorama road, which is closed to traffic in winter, you can reach the «Bödili» via Emmenwald and the Schönenboden valley station of the Brienzer Rothorn aerial cableway. Our tip: a detour to the «höchsten Luzerner» is worthwhile from here. The Brienzer Rothorn (2,350 m above sea level) offers a panoramic view of 693 mountain peaks. Back at the valley station, follow the winter hiking trail along Waldemme back to the village of Sörenberg.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
