MordorMordor’s concerts are as rare as they are exceptional! These pioneers of the Swiss extreme metal scene (the band from Vaud were already making waves in the late 1980s!) make it a point of honour to ensure that every performance is unique. Mordor constructs a ritualistic and oppressive universe, notably in the form of prayers to ancient Germanic and Hindu deities, set against a backdrop of twilight atmospheres inspired by black metal, doom, drone and industrial music. SektarismA cavernous prayer uttered in a voice choked by darkness: this has been Sektarism for the past 21 years. Formed in 2005, this drone/funeral doom/experimental black metal congregation has never ceased to spread its sinister incantations throughout the French and international underground.With numerous recordings to their name, including a split with the late Darvulia produced by the indispensable Nuclear War Now, and their last two albums, ‘Fils de Dieu’ and ‘Et Facta Est Lux’, released by the authentic End All Life / Noevdia, Sektarism have made a name for themselves in the less-than-orthodox underbelly of the global underground music scene.Sektarism have earned their reputation for their live performances. Their fully ritualised approach to performing live sets them apart and makes them unique. Each Ceremony is not a concert but a celebration in the Name of the Unmanifested Divine, a praise to the Lord that is both codified and improvised. Communion with the audience can be total, as the assembly does everything in its power to induce the most sinister trance possible. Everyone can be drawn into the ritual, even against their will, making it a radical experience at a time when so-called extreme metal has become sterile and harmless entertainment.The year 2026, following the death of the Nazarene, will be a year of conquest for Sektarism, with the release of a new offering that promises to be a collaboration with Treha Sektori. This offering will bring the Sektarism collective back to the forefront of the scene, establishing their integrity and intensity as new benchmarks in doom and ritual music. Following their return to the stage at the Prague Death Mass festival in November 2025, they will visit new territories such as Romania, Corsica and Switzerland. The procession of the Penitents continues on its path, ever flagellating themselves to spill their blood upon the wretched human condition. No redemption is to be expected, for there is no hope in this cursed world other than that of finding a light, flickering with meaning, at the heart of a corrupted spirituality. No one will be saved; each will be nailed to the Cross they have chosen for themselves.
