Horneggli Run
Overview
Intro
The Horneggli Run goes from the Horneggli mountain station through fir forests to Schönried. At the beginning, the run is quite curvy and therefore not suited for beginners. It gives you a nice view towards the Rüeblihorn and Saanenland.
Description
The chairlift will take you to the Horneggli, Schönried’s local mountain. From the top, a view of the Gstaad mountains before the fun of going downhill. The tobogganing run winds through the fir forests, with some very curvy parts, before it straightens out again and becomes somewhat more relaxing. However, because of its medium-difficulty, this run is not suited for beginners.
Even though one can race down the mountain, it’s also nice to take it a bit slower, allowing for the unique view into the distance onto the graceful Rüeblihorn (Le Rubli) and towards Sannenland. A stop and the Horny snow bar on the first half of the run can give the necessary energy boost for the descent to Schönried. This romantic chalet village lies in the sunny area of the region. After arriving at the bottom, it’s a short walk (approx. 200 meters) back to the valley station.
Tip: Still going too fast? The Horneggli Run crosses the Hornberg Run to Sannenmöser. Here is the chance to switch to an easier tobogganing run. The tobogganing day ticket, which includes toboggan rental, is valid for all toboggan runs in the destination Gstaad.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
