Parcours des Vuipeys
Overview
Intro
A bucolic route at the foot of the Teysachaux, framed by the Dent de Lys. Some excellent local produce awaits you in one of the refreshment areas if you want to tempt your taste buds. And for the more adventurous, there’s an adrenaline-filled descent as a bonus!
Description
Starting at the car park in Pont de la Cascade, the path winds gently upwards through the forest. The level section through the forest offers a welcome breather before the trail makes a sharp turn and climbs up another hairpin bend to the Chalet du Petit Mology. If you're lucky you may even come across a chamois in the forest.
A little later, as the trail leaves the forest, the view opens up and the Teysachaux peak appears. The route continues through pastures, past huts and isolated groups of fir trees. For a short while, the path is a bit more level, but then climbs up again quite steeply to the highest point at around 1520 metres. From here you can see the intermediate destination: the Buvette le Vuipay with a magnificent view of the entire region and the Dent du Lys. Time for a well-earned rest where you can enjoy delicious local dishes or cheese made during the summer.
The descent leads across pastures, past the Vuipay d'En Bas alp and finally through the more even forest section back to the starting point. For an exceptional descent, why not hire a bob-sleigh at the Buvette du Vuipey? Pack your snowshoes and poles into your backpack and slide the rest of the way at top speed! Then just strap your snowshoes back on to walk through the woods back to the starting point.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
