Schlittelbahn Sücka
Overview
Intro
Nothing says winter more than fondue and tobogganing! This easy toboggan run down from the Berggasthaus Sücka mountain hut to the hamlet of Steg is popular with guests of all ages.
Description
The natural toboggan run in Sücka starts at the Berggasthaus Sücka hut (1400m), a building with a long history. Originally built as a sanatorium, from 1870 it offered visitors to the Kuhalp meadows high in Liechtenstein’s mountains the chance to enjoy spa treatments such as whey baths.
Today the Berggasthaus Sücka is popular with fondue lovers. This traditional dish is made with Sückakäse cheese from the nearby dairy and cubes of bread baked in the mountain village of Malbun. A hearty fondue is the best way to prepare for the speedy descent back down into the valley!
The relatively short and easy toboggan run in Sücka, which has been used since 1963, gives tobogganers the chance to reach high speeds on the final section. It finishes in the idyllic hamlet of Maiensäss Steg (1300m), home to around 70 inhabitants.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
