Unique High Moorland of National Importance!
Overview
Intro
If you hike the Amden mountain trail, via a road section leading to Hintere Höhi you will reach protected moorland: a marshy natural landscape of national importance covered with mountain pine.
On this wet, acidic and barren soil only "survivors" such as the carnivorous sundew, cotton grass, or the plain Ried grass can flourish. On the dryer edge, the so-called heath, even blueberries and Alpine roses can grow.
The high moor is situated at the Amdener Mountain Trail, which leads from the valley station of the Mattstockchairlift via the Hintere Höhi Mountain to Arvenbüel. The high moorland is reached on foot in about 50 minutes, the entire mountain trail tour takes approx. 2.5 hours.
