Art nouveau was the first art movement that pursued the vision of artistic synthesis. It strove for harmony in all aspects of life and the metamorphosis of the real world into a mythological dream. Art nouveau is most often associated with objects of glass. Glass production has never been as outstanding as it was at that time. Frenchman Emile Gallé was one of the most important glass designers. Gallé started with artistic creations which, because of their success, were subsequently industrially produced.
