Fin de siècle, Belle Époque and Art Nouveau styles set the atmosphere at the Schweizerhof Flims. In summer it is Lake Cauma and the fragrant alpine flora that invite the visitor, and in the winter it is the 235 kilometres of ski slopes and beautiful winter hiking trails. Since 2008, the hotel has been managed by the 4th generation of the Schmidt family. Belle Époque restaurant, half board or a la carte, for high quality meals with a French influence.

Description

As soon as you enter, you are immersed in a world of timeless charm, where hospitality has been part of the family tradition for over 110 years. Unique lounges, stylish rooms, a renowned restaurant and a spacious new spa area with natural stone bath, saunas, steam bath, infrared sauna invite you to linger. The region of Flims, Laax, Falera offers a lot for its guests in summer and winter. In summer, Lake Cauma, the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona, numerous hiking and biking tours await you. In winter, LAAX, one of the largest and most modern winter sports destinations in the Alps with 235 kilometres of pistes, is right on the hotel's doorstep. Cross-country ski trails, toboggan runs and walking & hiking trails complete the wide range of winter activities. Young guests will be thrilled by Ami Sabi's children's programme in the snow or summer wonderland.

Swiss Historic Hotel

Rich in tradition, this hotel was built in 1903 in the Belle Époque and Art Nouveau styles. Currently managed by the 4th generation of the same family. Daniel Schmid, the director, is the grandson of the hotel's founder and has had a cultural influence on the hotel, where the likes of Albert Einstein, the Empress Zita and Marie Curie chose to spend their "summer retreat". The history of the Schweizerhof can be read in the book "Literary Grand Hotels of Switzerland".

Getting there

By car: take the highway A3/A13 to Chur or travel via the San Bernardino route and exit at Flims. You can also reach Flims by taking an impressive scenic drive over the Lukmanier or Oberalp pass routes. By train: International connections will take you to Chur. Change here to catch the post-bus to Flims Waldhaus/ Caumasee. Same procedure if you decide to take the Rhaetian Railways to Ilanz.
