The Bergheim family and group accommodation is located above Matt (Canton Glarus, Eastern Switzerland) on the sunny Weissenberge terrace in Glarus.
In the Bergheim group accommodation you will find modern rooms, a lounge, ski and bike room and drying room. The catering kitchen is equipped for self-catering. The large grounds with pool, lounge, sun loungers, barbecue, trampoline, chess and table tennis offer plenty of variety. Inside, table football and darts provide fun.
The top station of the Matt - Weissenberge cable car is just a few minutes' walk from Haus Bergheim. In winter, there is a 3 km long toboggan run down into the valley along the fascinating and wildly romantic Krauchtal gorge. Thanks to its even gradient, it is known far and wide by all sporty skiers. Sledges can be hired.
Two marked snowshoe routes can be explored on your own. The ski tours to the Sunnehöreli and the Fuggstock are popular. Others are described in the SAC Ski Touring Guide 5.
On the 2 km long forest nature trail, you can get to know around 40 species of trees and shrubs. The mountain landscape between Vorderrheinthal, Sernftal and Lake Walen is unique in the world because the mountain formation processes are particularly visible there. It is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under ‘Sardona Tectonic Arena’. The valley station of the Elm - Empächli ski area is approx. 10 minutes by car from the Matt valley station.
