Intro

Cycling and sightseeing at the same time – can it be done? Of course! From Neuchâtel to Lausanne, Isabelle and Manuela pass the Creux du Van natural rock amphitheatre, go swimming in Lake Neuchâtel and visit the old town of Lausanne, enjoying the comfort of Swiss Bike Hotels along the way. What more could you want?

Founder of 2nd Peak and keen cyclist

Isa likes to go cycling in her spare time. She is planning a three-day bike tour from Neuchâtel to Lausanne with her friend Manuela.
In her professional life, meanwhile, she opened the second-hand outdoor shop 2nd Peak. Her two passions work wonderfully together.

Nature offers me so much. When I’m on my bike, I can stop once in a while and marvel at all the little details that I wouldn’t see from the car.

Hôtel de l’Aigle

Isa and Manuela start their bike tour in Neuchâtel. From there, they cycle to Brot-Dessous, where they stop at the Grand Tour of Switzerland photo spot. Shortly afterwards, they arrive at the Hôtel de l’Aigle in the beautiful Val-de-Travers region. Here, they can have a well-deserved rest and even sample the local absinthe.

Hôtel du Théâtre

On the second day, Isa and Manuela cycle to the Creux du Van natural rock amphitheatre. Once at the top, they enjoy magnificent views over the majestic rock arena.
They continue to Yverdon-les-Bains, past countless herds of cows and beautiful scenery. Before checking in at the Hôtel du Théâtre, there’s time for a quick swim in Lake Neuchâtel. Later on at the superb Swiss Bike Hotel, the two friends sit back and relax over a cool drink in the beautiful courtyard.

The view from the Creux du Van natural rock amphitheatre is truly unique. We like having the variety, making sure we take breaks from the sport to enjoy nature.

  • 115km The three-day bike tour covers 115km
  • 8h Completed without stopping, in one go, the tour would take about 8 hours
  • Countless There are countless opportunities to schedule a stop and admire nature or take in the sights during the bike tour

The last stop on the bike tour is Lausanne

The Escaliers du Marché, a covered staircase leading from Place de la Palud to the Cathedral, is without a doubt one of the most picturesque sites in the city centre of Lausanne. And that’s exactly where the two cyclists are headed. To end the bike tour, they lock up their bikes and treat themselves to a short walk through the old town, where they admire the houses that line the staircase dating back to the 16th century. For those who want to extend their stay in Lausanne, the Swiss Bike Hotel Hôtel Bellerive is a great choice.
