Adrian Frutiger was a key figure in the development of typeface design in the second half of the 20th century. Frutiger rose to international fame in 1957 with his Univers font concept. The original family of fonts comprised 21 styles; corporations such as Deutsche Bank, Hugo Boss, FedEx and Apple subsequently adapted this sans serif font as their house typeface. Univers was very popular in the 1960s and 1970s; even today, it is still one of the most frequently used sans serif fonts.
