Intro

Das Werk des ausgebildeten Grafikers, der in Winterthur lebt und arbeitet, bewegt sich in den Bereichen Malerei, Zeichnung, Objekt und Plastik und ist auch im öffentlichen Raum präsent.

Über die Jahre hat das Kunsthaus eine Reihe von bedeutenden Arbeiten von Mario Sala (*1965) gesammelt. Das Werk des ausgebildeten Grafikers, der in Winterthur lebt und arbeitet, bewegt sich in den Bereichen Malerei, Zeichnung, Objekt und Plastik und ist auch im öffentlichen Raum präsent.

Im Zentrum der Ausstellung steht das mehrteilige, 2023 angekaufte Werk Wild Bunch. Sala überlagert hier mehrere Bildebenen: Figuren, die uns auf dem ersten Blick vertraut erscheinen, verschwimmen wie eine optische Täuschung. Durch die Vermischung von Wirklichkeitsebenen eröffnet uns Mario Salas Kunst eine traumwandlerische Dimension.
