Visit Stoos any time during winter and soak up the competitive atmosphere. The Franz Heinzer Piste on the northern slope of the Klingenstock is a FIS-approved training and racing location. Apart from the racing it is also open to serious amateurs.
The namesake of this most exciting ski slope in the Stoos ski area is Franz Heinzer, one of Switzerland’s most successful ski racers. The piste, which runs in an almost straight line from the Klingenstock into the valley, is regularly used as a FIS racing route for downhill runs and super G. When races are not being held it is more or less open to everyone. However, this descent is only recommended for experienced skiers as there are some extremely steep sections.
