Holzweg Thal trail
Overview
Intro
The Holzweg Thal trail encourages guests to experience the forest and wood in an artistic and playful way, using all their senses: practically, intellectually and emotionally. The installations by artist Sammy Deichmann are waiting to be discovered, providing new and unexpected insights into the natural surroundings.
The Holzweg Thal trail is situated between the Neu-Falkenstein castle ruins and Unterer Stalden in the idyllic Thal Nature Park, and enjoys a central location between Zurich, Berne and Basel. Different routes of varying duration take you past information panels and the multifaceted installations of artist Sammy Deichmann. These are sometimes harmonious, sometimes hugely rich in contrast, sometimes funny or strange – but always unexpectedly embedded in the landscape. Some of the routes are easily accessible with a buggy. The trail is marked with red posts, so that you can always be sure you’re on the right track. There is also a gorgeous playground for your little ones on the Holzweg Thal trail. The Holzweg Thal trail combines a tranquil natural setting with inspiring art, opportunities for play and adventure, and a wide variety of facilities that allow you to relax and unwind.
Getting here: Take the postal bus from Balsthal in the direction of Passwang-Zwingen until St Wolfgang or in the direction of Waldenburg until Seblen.
