Intro
Come and discover the history of wheat and bread in Echallens!
At the heart of the museum, a slide show helps you experience the wheat-to-bread process. During the show, various projectors highlight the pieces of equipment displayed: ploughs, swing-ploughs, harrows, seeders and rollers.

In the milling section, you will start the old grinding stone and help in milling demonstrations. Later in your visit, you will see an authentic reconstruction of a grain store. La Maison du Costume Vaudois (Vaud Traditional Costumes)
A rich collection of traditional clothes from the Vaud area is displayed in the long windows of this building by the Association Cantonale du Costume Vaudois (ACCV - Regional Association of Traditional Vaud Costumes). If you book early, you can even help to knead the bread and take away your very own plaited loaf.
Tha nature Trail: "Chemin des Blés"
As of 2006, the House of Grain and Bread has a new feature which should appeal to younger visitors between the ages of 5 and 12: it's the story of a child who hears his slice of bread speaking. The voice coming from under the jam on the bread is the museum mascot Ti'Grain, whose commentary guides the children along 20 stages of a learning path telling them all about the different chapters in the story of bread from the planting of grain seeds to the final product fresh out of a baker's oven. Along the way, the young explorers can touch the different displays, making this tour an enjoyable hands-on learning experience. To ensure that they haven't missed a stage the children are asked to answer a questionnaire.
