Avers near Splügen has a unique and well-documented Marmot Trail.
A small dirt road (about 3 kilometers long) winds its way through the natural habitat of these hibernating cuties and you may well be able to observe them, if you walk quietly and watch carefully. Eleven signposts offer a wealth of information on alpine marmots. Open from June to October.
